My daughter is an Irish Step dancer. We spend most of the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day performing dance-outs for our community. Along with all of the dancing comes pictures, a lot of pictures! Thousands of pictures! I try to capture each dancer at some point throughout the weekend. Candid shots are my favorite but those are the ones I seem to miss. As I sort through this year’s pictures, I remind myself that I need to stop and take those candid shots!

For the past three years, I have chosen a word in the beginning of the year to serve as my guide. In 2023, Beck’s Barn and Dede Jae Creations chose the word joy to guide our businesses. We brought things into our booth that brought us joy!
The word for Dede Jae Creations in 2024 was inspiration. I looked for inspiration for my photography. I also hoped to inspire others to create a space that they enjoyed with the things I chose to sell in my booth. Inspiration can be anywhere.
This year, I chose the word adventure. I knew at the beginning of the year that I was ready for a different adventure with my business. I made the tough decision to close my booth in the loft at The State Street Market at the end of March. My booth has been a place for me to be creative with staging and presentation. I have enjoyed searching for the treasures that I have chosen to add to my booth. I enjoy just being in my booth. I am also ready for new adventures with Dede Jae Creations. I will continue to do more with my photography. I am hoping to do more with this website as well with my Facebook page. Although I will miss my booth, I am ready for a new adventure!
